Happy birthday, 2010

video installation

Installation consists of a looped video recording of singing birthday song (sto lat - one hundred years) and four black rectangulars with a square base (25 to 25 cm), in which there is a place for 100 candles. 27 candles are already in their places, other spots are waiting to be filled. The lyrics contain the wishes that change their character. Empty space on the black squares will dissapear one day. A joyful sto lat melody, which is sung by the guests at a party, turns into the sound announcing the approaching end.
